Making an Appointment

To make your first appointment, simply call our friendly reception desk, it will take only a few minutes. We will arrange a convenient booking time for you and match you to a psychologist that suits your needs. Our reception team is available between 9am-5pm Monday – Friday, and will respond to any enquiries or bookings you wish to make. You can leave a message and one of our staff will return your call promptly. Please do not text message this number as it will not a normal mobile service.

After hours you can book an appointment via our 24 hour booking system on this website. You can also send an email to your psychologist or an email to our service from our website.

Your First Appointment

Feeling uncomfortable or anxious before coming along to your first appointment is very normal. We naturally feel nervous meeting new people and going to new places. Likewise when first meeting your psychologist you may feel a little uneasy, as is normal when preparing to discuss concerns that have been bothering you.

During therapy, your psychologist will help you to understand your problems, how they have arisen, and how to go about managing them more effectively.

Within Your Sessions You Can Expect:

  • Confidentiality and honesty
  • To be treated with respect, dignity and understanding.
  • A safe environment to talk openly.
  • Guidance.

 Fees & Rebates

Upon making an initial booking, you will be required to leave a $70 deposit to hold your booking. This will be deducted from your first session fee. We will require credit/debit card details in order to process the deposit, and this will be taken upon booking. We provide a text message reminder 48 hours prior to your appointment, if the appointment is cancelled or rescheduled providing less than 24 hours notice, the deposit fee will be forfeited.

Our standard consultation fee is $150 per session however this may vary depending on the type of referral, please contact our staff to discuss your referral so they can advise you regarding the appropriate fee.

medicare-rebateYou may also be eligible for a rebate from Medicare for a portion of the fee. To find out if this applies to you and how to obtain a rebate, download The Australian Psychological Society Ltd Medicare Fact Sheet or feel free to contact us to discuss your eligibility.

You may also be eligible to claim a rebate from your Private Health insurer. Please check with your private health care provider to determine your cover.

We accept referrals from Workcover, TAC, EAP providers (Davidson Trahaire Corpsych; Access Programs, St Lukes, Golden City Bendigo, Eudoxia, OARS), Private Health, Victims of Crime and Veterans Affairs.

Appointment Cancellation:

If you need to cancel a session please phone our reception (0425 240 021) 24 hours before your appointment or respond to the reminder text which is sent 48 hours before your appointment. Cancellations after 24 hours incur a fee of $70.  Of course we understand that genuine emergencies happen, so if you have a genuine emergency, which you could not forsee (e.g. car accident, rushed to hospital) the fee will be waived. If you forget your appointment, get called into work, confuse your appointment times etc you will be held responsible for paying the missed fee. We ask that you do not send text messages cancelling appointments to this number.

We employ a debt collection service which is generally used to pursue individuals who have failed to attend and not paid the missed session fee. We do not enjoy sending these letters out and know that people do not like receiving them. When you make an initial appointment our reception staff will request your credit card details so that if you fail to attend a scheduled appointment we are able to bill you directly for the fee.  We ask that in choosing to be a client of our service you commit to contacting us with 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment, or you accept responsibility for payment of the cancellation fee.

We believe that taking ownership and responsibility of our lives is a significant force for change. As such we apply this belief to all aspects of our work together, including the responsibility for making and canceling appointments.

How do I pay?

We ask that you pay for each session at the time of the appointment. We accept cash as payment, and also offer EFTPOS (credit or debit card) facilities and direct transfers. In most cases we are able to provide medicare rebates on the day or day after your appointment. Please ensure that your banking details are registered with medicare in order to receive your rebate.
